Why is Ghaziabad So Famous in India?

India has a diverse culture and religions. Ghaziabad is one of the popular cities situated in the northern part of India. There are so many things for which Ghaziabad is very famous. We will discuss the famous places and attractions in Ghaziabad. 

However, there are so many famous places in Ghaziabad to visit but we will discuss a few in this article. Let’s start our topic with the famous temples of Ghaziabad. 

1. Shri Manan Dham Temple

 Shri Manan Dham is a temple known as “Shankh Wala Temple”. This temple is situated in Morta( 8.1km from Ghaziabad). In this temple, a big Shell is made of a height of 31 feet and it is very fascinating. The height of the Shell from the land surface is approximately 108 feet. When the raindrop falls on the shell, it passes the shell and moves to the Shivaling. 

When we enter this temple we will see the Shree Radha Krishna Temple, however, it also has Maa Vaishno Devi Temple, The Shiva Shakti Temple, and the Shree Ram, and Shiv Temple. 

You can visit the temple and do the darshan at the following times: 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

2. Mohan Nagar Temple

Mohan Nagar which is situated at approx 4.6km from Ghaziabad if you visit that place via Grand Trunk Road. However, Since 2019 people generally visited Mohan Nagar through the Metro. If you want to go to Mohan Nagar you can follow the Red Line metro from Shaheed Sthal(New Bus Adda) and visit Mohan Nagar Station.

The Mohan Nagar temple is very famous due to its design and green garden. This temple was built in 1978. The number of devotees to this temple is approximately 400- 500 daily. From July to August (Sawan) many devotees come to offer jalabhishek to Shivaling. 

In this huge temple, there are so many statues of different Gods like, Shri Radha Krishan, Shivashakti, Maa Durga, Shri Ganesh, Maa Lakshmi, etc but this is the temple of Maa Durga.

Many people come here at festivals time like Navratri, Dussehra, and Janmashtami. At festival time the temple looks so beautiful due to the decorations, arrangements, and lighting systems. 

If you want to visit Mohan Nagar you can visit at this time – 5:45 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

3. ISKCON Temple 


The ISKCON Temple is also known as the Shri Shri Radha Madan Mohan Temple which is a significant cultural center for the followers of the International Society of Krishna Consciousness(ISKCON). This is the temple of Shri Radha Krishna.

The ISKCON Temple is situated at Rajnagar in Ghaziabad. The exact address is  – ISKCON Temple, Hare Krishna Marg, Sector 2C, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.

The construction of this temple was started in the 1990s and completed in the 2000s.  This temple has a modern structure and it is designed to represent traditional Indian architecture. 

On the occasion of Janmashtami, many devotees visit the ISKCON temple for Darshan and to see the decorations of Radha Krishna statues and temple.

The temple usually opens in the morning after 4 a.m. for morning prayers(Mangala Aarti). The temple timing for darshan is around 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

4. City Forest 


City Forest is a wonderful place to visit and that allows us to experience nature and forest at our nearest. It is situated in Bhindawali village of Ghaziabad. The correct location is – City Forest, Bhindawali, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.

This forest area is filled with greenery, lush, trees, and a variety of Flora and fauna. It offers recreational activities like cycling, nature walks, jogging, bird watching, picnics, etc. 

The entry fee in the City Forest is Rs.5  and the timings vary but typically it’s open during daytime hours. City Forest is not only a recreational spot but also it focuses on environmental conservation. To preserve our ecosystem and create awareness of a green environment many people put their efforts into it. 

You can visit in the morning time or late afternoon so you can enjoy the whole forest as it is very big in the area. Also, it is advisable to keep some snacks, a water bottle, comfortable clothing, and shoes suitable for walking. 

5. Dasna

Dasna is a historical town and I am recommending this place to visit because it has very historical and cultural places that make it a noteworthy place to visit. One of the most significant places of Dasna is Dasna Devi Temple dedicated to Goddess Durga, which attracts devotees and tourists. Most of the devotees come to the temple for Darshan on festive or religious days.

Another place is Dasna Fort which represents the ancient history and architecture of the region. When we reached Dasna, we experienced the local way of life, traditions, and customs, especially during festivals and cultural events.

Dasna has a peaceful environment therefore it is a must-visit place for people looking for short time visits or want a family trip.

As Ghaziabad is a well-known place in India, there are so many famous places in Ghaziabad to visit and they attract our attention due to their specificness.
